Lore of Drokvira

The islands of Drokvira have always been well known for their structure, power, stability, freedom, and safety. However, there was one race that was always seen as pure evil incarnate, feared even by the demons and devils that lived on the island as well, kept in place by the highest levels of authority. This race was known as the Blacksouls, vicious, devilish creatures resembling dragons, their origin unknown, as well as their ambitions. Many a times have they caused great wars with the archipelago, but have always been pushed back. Despite these victories, flushing the race out completely would be a death wish. That was, until Vieta came to power.

As the queen of the Aurora Ice Dragons, the highest levels of authority on the isles of Drokvira, she declared that all Blacksouls be hunted down and killed, including half breeds. Out of all the species, the Auroras were hated the most by the blacksouls, and attempts on the queen's life had been made multiple times, and a variety of wars had been fought.

But all those years of being left alone, before the genocide, had not been for nothing, and the archipelago would soon learn to regret this choice of action. You see, when the blacksouls were hunted down and exterminated, they had finished perfecting their very own doomsday weapon, in the form of nothing more than a few simple runes and incantations.

The great leaders of Drokvira barely had time to react, before the curse spread like wildfire, covering the entirety of the archipelago. The blacksouls may not have been able to save their race, but in the end, they took down the islands with them. Lasting nearly five years, the curse caused nearly 90% of the total population to go extinct.

A few were able to survive, luckily, and now are trying to rebuild civilizations. Smaller effects of the curse remain, such as droughts and floods, famine, etc. But it appears the worst of it has worn off.... for now.
